POWER OF TRANSFORMING GRACE

Luke 8:1-4
[1]And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,
[2]And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
[3]And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.
[4]And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
🔑📖KEY VERSE: “And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils” (LUKE 8:2).
The account of Mary Magdalene in the New Testament demonstrates the depth of the power of Jesus Christ over sin and satanic forces. To think that a woman of this profile could be saved from sin, delivered from evil spirits and worldly entanglements showed evidently the transformative power of Christ in the lives of people who partake of His grace.
Mary Magdalene experienced the fullness of the touch of Jesus Christ for the salvation of her soul and deliverance from all works of the devil. Little wonder, she demonstrated uncommon love for the Saviour during His ministry on earth, and even after His death. She epitomised true love, care, commitment and consecration, which every believer should show towards Christ our Lord and Saviour.
The story of Mary Magdalene resonates daily in the New Testament records, showing us the nature of complete redemptive work that Christ has come to accomplish in the life of the vile sinner and the manner of response, which recipients of this glorious grace of God should portray.
It is said that to whom much is given, much is expected. If we want the best from God, then we must give Him first place in our lives. Many people experience inexplicable failures and losses in life because they have not truly accorded God the first place. The Master has granted us complete salvation as He did to Mary Magdalene and we should reciprocate His love with unalloyed loyalty and submission to His word and will.

MEDITATION
The main purpose of miracles
1. A clear case of deliverance
a. Mary was possessed of evil spirits which also manifested in form of infirmities or sicknesses, v2.
b. This shows that some sicknesses are just demonic and not just medical, v2.
c. An encounter with Jesus set her free totally from demons and diseases, v2.
d. In addition, she got her life transformed through salvation as the greatest miracle any can get on earth.
e. Jesus is never satisfied with deliverance and healing of people and afterwards they end up in hell fire. Miracles must draw people to salvation experience and this salvation experience should be the emphasis of christlike preachers. In fact, a saved and sick person who makes heaven eventually is better than a healed person who spends eternity in hell.

Have you experienced a transformed life from Jesus? If yes, when?
2. A fruit of transformed life
a. Mary, with the other women, committed their fortunes to the service of Jesus till His death and after His resurrection, v3.
b. A truly converted person will be zealous of spiritual things and service to the body of Christ at all cost.

Prayer points
Give praises to God for various deliverance you have received from God especially the most important miracles of salvation🙏
Ask for forgiveness for not giving your service to God and the body of Christ sufficiently well enough🙏
Commit your life to Christ afresh and ask Him to use you and give you a serving spirit🙏
Ask for zeal upon all brethren to be zealous in serving the body of Christ🙏
