    *THE ALL IN ALL*

    *TEXT:* COLOSSIANS 1:10-19

    *📖 READING* *COLOSSIANS 1:10-19*

    [10]That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

    [11]Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

    [12]Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

    [13]Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

    [14]In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

    [15]Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

    [16]For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

    [17]And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

    [18]And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

    [19]For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

    🔑📖KEY VERSE: _*”For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him” (COLOSSIANS 1:16).*_

    In the world today, some rulers are described as despots, imperial majesties, royal highnesses, paramount rulers, field marshal or grand commanders. We have acclaimed world powers with veto powers and authority, and eminent personalities distinguished with highest order, yet they cannot be classified as “The All in All”. They are all subject to laws of nature and limitations in different spheres of life. The likes of Pharaoh, Sennacherib, Nebuchadnezzar and Herod with acclaimed absolute powers and prowess were humiliated by God.

    In Christ Jesus, we find the One who is the All in All. “In whom we have redemption through his blood”; “by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him”. Truly, He is the All in All. He “is before all things, and by Him all things consist… and in him should all fullness dwell”.

    The understanding of these facts in our passage made Apostle Paul, among other things, to passionately pray for the believers in Colosse, that they might walk worthy of the Lord and be fruitful in every good work while they increase in the knowledge of God.

    Anyone who is saved by Christ cannot continue in his sinful ways. Rather, once he understands the ultimate sacrifice God made for him, he should respond with a grateful desire to please Him in all things.

    ✍🏽THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: _*Christ’s preeminence demands eminent lifestyle.*_

    THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:*1 PETER 1-5*

    *MEDITATION*

    *The supreme power behind the church*

    1. Christ is the perfect replica of the invisible God the Father. Thus it will take revelation to differentiate the two of them if you are to meet them physically, v1.

    2. He is the origin, (interpreted as firstborn) of all creations, v15. That is further clarified in the succeeding two verses.

    3. He created all things and everybody except the Godhead, v16,17.

    i. He created Lucifer who turned to Satan.

    ii. He created all the mighty angels including those who turned to wicked demons.

    iii. He single handedly created the trillions of planets of which the earth is just like a grain of sand.

    iv. He created heaven, the abode of God.

    v. He created the roaring waves of the sea.

    4. He is the Head of the Church of all those who are born again including you if you are born again, v18.

    5. *All* the essence, power, attributes of God the Father perfectly dwells in Him, v19.

    6. He can recreate any person and make him/her Christlike and free from all the satanic characters and nature, and make him/her a brand new creature, v14, 2 Corinthians 5:17.

    *Questions*

    a. How did Christ manifest all these 5 above while He was on earth? Think of scriptural passages and incidence.

    b. If Jesus is the Head of the church, should we ever fear what the devils and the powers of the wicked will do against us?

    c. What should be a believer’s attitude to storms, waves and drowning rivers of life?

    d. How does this preeminent glory of Christ apply to you?, vv13,14. Think🤔

    *Prayer points*

    Give all praises and worship to the glorified Christ🙏

    Ask for more revelation of His glory🙏

    Ask for increasing faith in His power🙏

    Ask that He will show forth His glory in our lives more and more🙏
