</div><div>📜TEXT:ISAIAH 52:1-8📜</div><div>1 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.</div><div>2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.</div><div>3 For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.</div><div>4 For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.</div><div>5 Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.</div><div>6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.</div><div>7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!</div><div>8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.</div><div>
</div><div>🔑📖KEY VERSE:_*”Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean” (ISAIAH 52:1).*_</div><div>
</div><div>An author wrote, “Unused money devalues, unused talent diminishes, unused time dies and unused knowledge becomes a burden. The tragedy of life isn’t the ultimate death but the resources that die within you when you are still alive.” Our world is littered with unused talents and resources. As the author rightly observed, many useful talents and ideas eventually go to waste when not used on time.</div><div>
</div><div>The children of Israel were looking for external help when all they needed had been provided. So Isaiah challenged them to wake up to their responsibility. They must put on their hitherto unused beautiful garment and their strength. They must also awake from their despondency and distrust, break away from their slavery mentality and look unto God that was working for them hitherto. The prophet pointed out that they sold themselves cheap to the enemy and the Assyrians took advantage of them. God then promised to deliver them if they would return to Him.</div><div>
</div><div>Christians today are busy carrying out many good causes, but neglecting the primary task that Jesus gave them. We have all that we need but many are still waiting for a more convenient time to do the work of God.</div><div>
</div><div>The tragedy of unused garment or talent is that they soon lose their usefulness. The promised restoration of Zion would be a mirage if Israel would continue to sleep instead of making their ways right with God. Delay is dangerous for every saint and unused garment might soon be unusable by God.</div><div>

</div><div>*Man-God Responsibilities Before the glory*</div><div>
</div><div>The text is a vision of Jerusalem in the coming millennial reign of Christ. We glean some applications.</div><div>
</div><div>*1. Beautiful purity*</div><div>a. Garment of holiness is beautiful because it is totally freed from every form of pollution, sins and thoughts of uncircumcised or unpurified hearts, v1. “The fine linen is the righteousness of the saints, clean and pure” Read Revelation 19:8. </div><div>b. This fine garment is the only garment that befits anybody proclaiming the glad tidings of salvation, v7. “How beautiful are the feet of them that publish glad tidings”. It is complete aberration and totally unacceptable to God to be preaching the gospel with unclean or defiled garments. Purify your garments first.</div><div>c. Only an abnormal person will despise beautiful garments decorated with the fruit of the Spirit. How much of the fruit of the Spirit is in your garment?</div><div>
</div><div>*Questions*</div><div>Is your garment clean and white or has it some defilement underneath or hidden? Is it polluted with the odour of the old man that is not totally washed with the blood of Jesus inside out?</div><div>
</div><div>The beauty of Christianity shines gloriously only in holy and christlike living. Get holiness, live holiness! Anything different or lesser is a scam in Christianity👌</div><div>
</div><div>*2. Best practices*</div><div>a. Even though God, by the Holy Spirit, gives the beautiful garments of holiness or heavenly righteousness, human responsibilities are germane.</div><div>b. “Awake, Awake”, v1. Have you taken some evil doses that are making you slumber spiritually? You better wake up because spiritual sleep always lead to spiritual death🤜. </div><div>c. “Put on thy beautiful garments”, v2. God has sown one for you already as you earnestly ask but you must put it on yourself. Start to manifest the life deliberately and consciously.</div><div>c. “Shake thyself from the dust”, v2. There are some dusts that are compatible with your body made from sand and they will like to cleave to your garments as innocent. Little dust of worldliness, little sins, little carnality, little foxes in the fine (though very destructive), little unholy relationship etc. In order to enjoy God and for God to enjoy you, you must shake off that dust not easily visible to the human eye but highly magnified before heavenly eyes.</div><div>d. “Arise and sit down”, v2. Exercise yourself in godly things like prayers, evangelism, edifying visitations etc. Don’t stay idle. You must do this yourself. Don’t wait for the stirring of the Holy Spirit🤷♂️</div><div>d. “Loose THYSELF from the bands of thy neck”, v2. The bands on your necks are bondages, habits, relationships, friendships etc that retard your spiritual walk, work and progress as pilgrims. Loose yourself from them. God will deliver, but it starts from you. You must initiate it.</div><div>
</div><div>*Questions*</div><div>Can you reflect on those human responsibilities and identify your own responsibilities which you must work on now?</div><div>
</div><div>*3. Blessed provocation*</div><div>a. Are you under Assyrian oppression without cause?, v4.</div><div>b. Do the ungodly ridicule the name the Lord because of your situations?, v5.</div><div>c. Challenge: Awake, shake thyself, arise and sit down and “you will know the name of the Lord” as powerful and glorious, worthy of enthusiastic publication and preaching, vv6,7.</div><div>
</div><div>*Prayer points*</div><div>Ask for enlightenment of the Holy Spirit that makes you unsatisfied with your present spiritual state🙏</div><div>Pray earnestly for God to cleanse you inwardly and totally as you change your garments to “fine linen” radiating the beauty of holiness🙏</div><div>Ask for revelation and grace to play your part without giving excuses🙏</div><div>Ask God to wake up all sleeping saints and cleanse all their defiled garments in the household of faith🙏</div><div>
