GIVE BECAUSE YOU LOVE THEM
🔑 KEY VERSE:
“Give, and it will be given to you” (Luke 6:38).
TODAY’S TEXT
Luke 6:38;
Proverbs 11:25; 19:17
MESSAGE
God showed us how to give. He purposefully, sacrificially and willingly gave his only begotten son. He loved us and he
demonstrated that love by giving. His giving was sacrificially. He gave his only son. His purpose is to have many sons through this one giving. Today he has many sons and daughters from every language. When you give what you have you will receive what you need.
The Bible has examples of givers, the purpose of their giving and the result of their giving. Abraham gave his only son. Solomon gave in appreciation of the mercies of God. The widow mentioned by Jesus gave all that she has. Abel gave the best of his increase to God.
Giving and receiving is life, we give out carbon dioxide and we receive oxygen. The moment you hoard carbon dioxide, you die. Giving makes way for you before God and man. It extended the life of persons like Dorcas and Hezekiah (Acts 9: 36-41; Isaiah 38: 1-6). Hezekiah prayed, mentioned his deeds before God and he got fifteen extra years to his life. Giving has eternal reward, attracts favour and establishes a memorial that speaks for the giver for many years to come.
This Sunday is the only Sunday out of the 52 Sundays in this year that you can directly give to support the CED National office. The General Council designated this Sunday to among other things, raise financial support for children ministry. Please support us to develop and distribute more children materials.
