Igbinedion University Okada holds an orientation programme for new students.

Igbinedion University Okada organised an orientation programme on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, aimed at welcoming over 1,000 new students to the institution. The event took place in the university’s main auditorium in Okada, Edo State. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye, PhD, FAS, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Ralph Igbinosa Adeghe, delivered an inspiring opening remark.
In his address, Professor Adeghe emphasised the importance of academic commitment and the spirit of unity among the new students. He urged them to remain steadfast in their academic journey and embrace the opportunities presented by Igbinedion University to realise their dreams. The university, he described, serves as a vehicle for growth, research, and development.
The orientation program was attended by members of the university’s management team, including deans, directors, and heads of units. Their presence at the event demonstrated the commitment of the institution to the success and well-being of its students.
The newly admitted students were provided with comprehensive information about the university’s facilities, academic programmes, support services, and extracurricular activities. They were also briefed on the university’s rules, regulations, and code of conduct.
During the programme, the students had the opportunity to interact with college members, senior students, and representatives from various student ganizations. This engagement aimed to foster a sense of community and enable the new students to familiarise themselves with the university’s academic environment.
The orientation programme also featured informative sessions on time management, study skills, and campus resources. Additionally, the students were introduced to the university’s library system, laboratories, and research centres, emphasising the importance of utilising these facilities to enhance their academic experience.
