BURATAI CENTER
The Igbinedion University Buratai Center for Contemporary Security Affairs!
The Igbinedion University Buratai Center for Contemporary Security Affairs was established to provide workable and pragmatic solutions to global security challenges.
The center, the first of its kind in sub-Saharan Africa, was named after Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, rtd.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, has several times described the establishment of the Buratai Centre for Contemporary Security Affairs as being in line with the institution’s commitment to teaching, research, and community relations.
The center will frequently bring together academia and the military to compare notes and challenge the status quo in an intellectually stimulating discourse on security and related contemporary issues.
In addition to knowledge production in the identified areas, the Buratai Center is currently organizing short courses for security practitioners and the general public.
